Seattle's Museum of History and Industry recently opened the Jeff Bezos Center for Innovation, celebrating Seattle's culture of invention. To bring attention to the Center, C+F partnered with GeekWire (a tech industry news site) to select the 10 hottest Seattle startups. We then provided each startup with an enormous cocktail napkin and asked them to sketch the "moment of inspiration" that sparked their breakthrough ideas. These large napkins were displayed at the Center's grand opening gala, creating a great deal of social media and PR buzz in the tech and VC communities. As part of the promotion, we also created a contest inviting entrepreneurs to submit their world-changing ideas on a cocktail napkin. Winners received a provisional patent and $500 in Kickstarter funding.
